| Abstrakt: | Poles from Kazakhstan – their pre- and post-repatriation life in the perspective of intercultural pedagogy. The study concerns contemporary Polish repatriates. The authoress presents the controversy over the notion of ‘repatriation’, legal determinants of repatriation and non-governmental organizations which act for repatriating former exiles and their descendants. By exploring the case of one Upper Silesian family, which have been trying to bring their ancestors back to the homeland, the authoress shows the process of integration with the local community in the new place of living and the role of mass media in this process. What the authoress claims to be of major significance in shaping these attitudes is intercultural education, which should exist in a favourable climate created by politicians. |
