Działalność organizacji pozarządowych w środowisku lokalnym na przykładzie Stowarzyszenia Pomocy Wzajemnej „Być Razem” w Cieszynie

Abstract

What is presented in this article is the activity of the Association of Mutual Aid “To Be Together”, treated as an example of applying the potentialities of the civil society. The Association was founded in 1996 as a response to passiveness and institutionalization of the social aid system. Currently, the Association runs centres which provide support to the homeless, single mothers, victims of family violence, and children and youth. It cooperates with about 50 volunteers. The activity of the Association aims at mutual help – to both the beneficiaries and the helping party.
