| Abstrakt: | In this article, the author took up the analysis of the influence of the animal glues on the ageing of the paper in the antique books. A chromatographic examination was carried out with the use of gas chromatograph type 5890 and Hewlett-Packard ChemStation G 1034C programming. She indicated the content of fatty acids in hexane extracts of southern paper (Venice, 1490) and northern paper (Strasburg, 1483) after cleaning with the SPE technique. The results of the investigation show the usefulness of the chromatography as the basic instrument in conservation works. |
