dc.description.abstract | The conception of the education of Szkoła Rycerska in 1765 was based on the assumption
that cadets’ connections with corpus do not finish with the end of their formal
instruction. On the contrary, the bond once built, influences the graduate’s attitude to
the end of his/her life. The efficiency of the education process was measured according to
its duration; the school inspired people not only to equip the youth with the knowledge
adjusted to their level and aspirations, but also to shape them into rationally-thinking
citizens, shaping their engaged and emotional attitude to the duties of the state and
nation, as well as the system of values in which pride, respect and honour were guarantees
of patriotism, professionalism and responsibility. In this system shame was an
internal and external sanction. The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the meaning
of its function in the light of the Polish enlightenment. | pl_PL |
