Abstract

The article addresses the problem of homelessness, which affects diverse populations and is constantly growing. The work draws attention to the fact that homeless people have to face social exclusion. A significantly important role regarding this issue is played by streetworkers, who go out to the streets to work with and for the people. They sacrifice their time and energy for the other people to give them hope, help them to find and strengthen their inner motivation, improve their standard of living. Streetworker’s job requires a lot of responsibility, courage, ability to face difficulties and adversities, it is often connected with rejection, lack of approval and acceptance. Does it make any sense? Does it produce any results? What is the job of the streetworker really about? One can find the answers to these and other questions in the article presented below.
