Rola wierszowanych segmentów tekstowych w kronikach doby staropolskiej

Abstract

The article concerns the versified textual segments that occurred in Old Polish chronicles. Upon made analyses, author concluded that these segments are multifunctional. The versified part as an element of text frame may be a kind of recommendation and may play a key role in the process of textual delimitation. However, the observed verses existing in main text of historical writing make the narration pause and are used for commemorating, retardation, aesthetic purposes and facilitating the process of remembering the bygone facts.
