Remityzacja słowa : rzecz o manekinach w prozie Brunona Schulza

Abstract

In the present paper we try to demonstrate that the interpretation of a literary work is in fact a quest for the forgotten, „primitive” meaning of the word — for its myth, as Bruno Schulz puts it. We also try to point out some types of interpretive relations that hold between the literary work and its interpretations on the basis of two works by Bruno Schulz; Mityzacja rzeczywistości (The Mythization of Reality) and Traktat o menekinach (The Treatise on Dummies). Subject to type of relation a literary work can function either as a literal communication act, or as a lingustic basis for the secondary, non-liguistic interpretation. Ideally, a literary work may also function as a determinant of the poetic interpretation of the world, and the word. The poetic interpretation is responsible for the word’s drift toward its myth — for its r e m y t h i z a t i o n .
