Abstract

The Library at the Faculty of Theology functions as the widely available centre of the theological thought in local academic environment. In the article, there are described mainly those aspects that determine the uniqueness and specificity in functioning of the Theological Library in the library-information system. The attention should be drawn to the specificity of the collection and its foundation, rich tradition and history of the collection, interdisciplinary character of the stored publications, manners and sources of information in acquiring the literature, information-promotional activity directed to different types of users. Carefully selected book collection and reliable information about the collection make the usefulness of the Theological Library increase continuously, serving its collection to the Silesian socjety.
