Nawoływanie Boga : nad wierszem Stanisława Barańczaka "N. N. próbuje przypomnieć sobie słowa modlitwy"

Abstract

The author of the article places Stanisław Baranczak’s poem, included in the collection Sztuczne oddychanie (Rescue Breathing), in rhe context of Przesłanie Pana Cogito (Mister Cogito's message) by Zbigniew Herbeet, and in the perspective of the world after „the death of God”. Baranczak’s lyrical subject turns out be the reverse of Herbert’s hero — he is a being devoid of the power of judgement He regains, however, human dignity by bringing himself to accept the difficult and painful existence in the world „beyond good and evil”. His „prayer”, directed to the world of everycay suffering, embodied in an anti-God, is precisely an expression of the above mentioned acceptance.
