Przestrzenne konteksty chorwackiego literaturoznawstwa

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of one of the aspects of language employed in Croatian literary studies. The phenomenon which draws special attention is a very common usage of spatial terminology in this language. Literary theoreticians who use this terminology borrow it from contexts in which it appears in anthropological geography, ethnological psychology, humanistic geography, ethnology, ethnography and cultural studies. In the first part of the article the author presents spatially-oriented conception of the history of Croatian literature, in the second part he focuses on the semantics of spatial terms used in literary criticism.
