Piotr Kochlewski w drukach XVII-wiecznych

Abstract

The article discusses printed matters, which have not been previously analyzed in the literature of subject, where we encounter the name of Piotr Kochlewski - an unknown poet of the 17th century, a secretary of Krzysztof Radziwiłł. These are primarily Latin texts: occasional poems devoted to the deceased Janusz, brother of the poet’s patron, which were included in a book prepared by Stefan Szwykowski. Kochlewski is mentioned in other books. These are: a biographical entry in the work of Andrzej Węgierski, who discusses the output of protestant writers; epitaph and gravestone of the secretary of RadziwiHowski, included in the funeral sermon devoted to his son, Chrystian Kochlewski, in Polonica varia by Steinwehr. A theological dissertation by Jan Dominik is another printed matter unfamiliar to Eistreicher, where a dedication to Kochlewski is included at the beginning. These materials enable a biographical specification of the judge of the land of Brzesko, they present him as a poet and specify the evaluations of his contemporary writers.
