Przedmiot i referent w świetle triadycznej teorii znaku

Abstract

The paper is concerned with the differentiation between the internal object of the sign and its referent as seen against the background of C. S. Peirce’s triadic theory of signs. The differentiation accounts theoretically fo r the creativity of texts, and at the same time leads to the rejection o f creativity as the criterion for „literariness” or fictionality. A differentiation is also made between two types of the ground of the sign, the occurrence of which depends on the sign’s referentiality or its lack.
