Abstract

The interwar period of literary contacts between Croatia and Poland, due to the role played by the author of a famous diary Eight years in Warsaw, can be called the Benešić time. The explanation of a phenomena of the Polish Benešić's activity and it’s the most important project – Yugoslav library (publishing series), can be found in the attitude held by the Polish cultural elite toward Croatian and generally Slavic culture, the cultural policy conducted in the interwar Yugoslavia and Poland and the institutional circumstances of Polish-Yugoslav cultural cooperation.
