| Abstract: | The article is an attempt to analyse the genre of baroque romance in verse form, with the use of methodology provided by the theory of discourse. Four pieces by Hieronim Morsztyn constitute the material for analysis. The determinants of the theme (love) discourse constitute the selected areas of the study. Such research approach, including different contexts of the genre, allows for the description of the borderline and polyphonic generic forms, among which the Old Polish romance may be ranked. |
