Abstract: | The aim of the article is to present letters sent by prisoners of Nazi concentration camps, prisons and jails during World War II. Among the authors of the letters were: Father Emil Szramek – parish priest of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (St. Mary’s Parish) in Katowice, Father Józef Czempiel – parish priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hajduki Wielkie (today Chorzów), Father Jan Macha – vicar from St. Joseph’s Parish in Ruda and Joachim Gürtler – alumn from Ruda.
