Abstract

According to Anthony Giddens high modernity ought to be considered on the institutionallevel, however transmutations on the same level apply directly to the life ofindividuals and their most personal experience. This paper aims at showing, on thestrength of Anthony Gidden and Zygmunt Bauman’s views, mechanisms which shapecharacters’ identity of the newest Spanish American prose (on the base of AlbertoFuguet’s and Jaime Bayly’s novels) in which we observe changes of the prospect fromsocial to individual, that is revolutionary from the traditional literature of HispanicAmerica’s point of view but typical for the society of high modernity.
