Księgozbiory uczniów i nauczycieli w Państwowym Gimnazjum Polskim im. Antoniego Osuchowskiego w Cieszynie w okresie międzywojennym

Abstract

The article presents the process of building a school library of Państwowe Gimnazjum Polskie im. Antoniego Osuchowskiego in Cieszyn between 1922 and 1939. School compositions, archive material collected in Archiwum Państwowe in Katowice, directives by the Ministry of Religious Faith and Public Enlightenment concerning the functioning of school libraries and the literature of the subject were mainly used. A development of particular teacher’s and student’s book collections (Polish, German, French, school course books) and their qualitative and quantitative characteristic constituting a school library. The collections of books were also formed in school rooms, e.g. in a chemistry and physics one. The books were also collected by the members of student organizations and associations, as well as class districts.
