Abstract

The article pays attention to the functioning of books in Radziwiłł court of Birżańsk and Nieświesk line. The Catholic and Protestant environment paid attention to the publications concerning not only their own religion, but also infidel or polemical books. A special place in princely libraries was given to the Bible, passed on and remembered with great respect in testaments. The Birżańsk line appreciated Biblia brzeska the most. The reception of particular titles is reflected in the lists of Radziwiłł courtiers where the information on reading, selling, borrowing and giving particular works was placed.
