Abstract: A comparison is made of plastic, elastic and total deformation of new grades of GUR 1020 and 1050 polymers used in medical implants. Polyethylene 1050 has been found to have higher resistance to permanent deformation and better elastic properties. It has been shown that radiation modification increases the resistance of the both grades of UHMWPE to plastic deformation.
