| Abstract: | The paper depicts ways in which the perspective of an immigrant may influence the literary view of Australia. The selected pieces written by poets of Polish origin, who wrote under the Southern Cross, reveal a feeling of alienation evoked by that exotic continent, as well as ways of dwelling the new land and making it familiar. |
