| Abstrakt: | In her article the author considers the problem of the location of insurrectionary memorials in Katowice after World War II in the collective historical memory of the inhabitants of Upper Silesia. Using the monuments in Katowice as an example, she proves the thesis that the fact that monumental art in the communist era was influenced by official directives, it shaped different types of memory, affecting both the evolution of ideas about the past as well as the interpretation of historical phenomena. |
