Abstract

The author of the article puts forward a hypothesis that the media contemporary discourse does not change much the constellation of genres too much, but the text styles undergo changes, which could be formulated as styles are local, genres are global. A new perspective of a sender-receiver process in contemporary media was determined by the appearance of new rhetorical strategies illustrated with examples of an interview and its transformations to the form of a talk show. The author tries to verify a repeated common opinion of a pioneering nature of Teleecho by Irena Dziedzic in establishing rules of a talk show as a genre in the Polish television. She believes that it is pragmatic parameters, a charismatic host and the audience in the studio, that dominate in a cristalization of the opinion on the features of a talk show model these days. Teleecho could be treated as the first Polish talk show on condition that the so-called condition sine qua non is a charisma and conversational skills of a host. The author is not in favour of this idea. Even if we accept a very dynamic definition of the genre of Teleecho, the author does not locate a model in the position of canonic examples, yet it is a canonic interview of the educational and cognitive function.
