Stany graniczne "ja" w poezji Edy Ostrowskiej

Abstract

Eda Ostrowska is a poet who, as Krzysztof Lisowski claims, “extremely precisely show the fate of all misfits, fools and poets”. In her works one can find the subjectivity tightly inscribing itself into the category of an outsider, defined in a fairly detailed way by Colin Wilson, a British writer and philosopher. According to him, an outsider is among others someone foreign, feeling the unreality of the world and its disorder, rejecting any linked social and family relations and feeling the impossibility to know him/herself despite any attempts, as well as existing “on the border”. The article confronts a defined category of an outsider with subject relations in selected works by Ostrowska who often describes the experience of her stay in a mental hospital and a mental disease she went through. Her poems are a manifestation of a “different” awareness. As Józef Fert has it, “we deal with existential experience that is extreme in its nature and intensity from her first texts”.
