Abstract

The article deals with the use of non-fiction literature in secondary school lessons. In addition to Polish language and literature lessons, I see the possibility and also the need to using the genre described here during class in other subjects, showing the dominant role of humanities as a field that combines competences in literature theory, geography, knowledge about society and history, among other areas. In the first part of the article, I provide reflection on the characteristics of the genre, which, in my opinion, can cause a greater reading activity of pupils and involve them in the community of readers. In the second part, I propose readings of specific reports on ecological problems in the spirit of ecodidactics: Plutopia. Atomowe miasta i nieznane katastrofy nuklearne [Plutopia.
