Abstract

The article presents the basic aspects of the functioning of the media market in Moldova. The analysis covers the formal and legal, institutional and market dimensions. The author took into account the current socio-political situation in the country and its impact on the media system. The study does not take into account the Transnistrian Republic of Moldova, which is not recognised as a sovereign entity under international law by the international community, but is de facto a separate political entity with its own elected authorities, monetary system and administrative apparatus with state responsibilities.
