Abstract

The subject of author’s reflection is the Picture of Adam Mickiewicz as a journalist and editor. Mickiewicz as an editor willingly edited someone else’s texts (for example poetry by Garczyński) and did not like to edit his own. He preferred writing new works to carefully editing the already written ones. Hence, he willingly gave his texts to his friend editors. The author underlines the role of editorial board in Mickiewicz’s works. As a journalist, on the other hand, Mickiewicz touched upon the socio‑political and patriotic issues, mainly those concerning the lack of independence or emigration. He also portrays himself as a journalist aware of rhetorical means and text persuasion.
