Abstract: The author puts forward a hypothesis that a public discourse goes back to the Aristotle’s agora, combining the public with the private. It introduces personal, intimate and private topics and contents, including emotions and aggression. An important role in this process is played by the media. Former divisions into a private and public communication, as well as a high and law culture in a media discourse are not used. Thus, what appears is a public and eclectic discourse from the point of view of text poetics. Colloquialism/privacy that shapes an everyday culture experience is a collection of heterogeneous texts, and serving various fields of a social existence in the public discourse. Changes in communicative behaviours made the public discourse with an omnipresent colloquialism develop. Hence, we come across the culmination effect.
