Abstract

Modern children’s poetry in its amusing stream (trend) leads to games with sound and semantic value. It also leads to humour, participates in making the reality surreal, casual playing with different object’s features and in the end it reveals the language’s features. The study defines different types of games conducted with recipient: appealing to onomatopoeic values of sounds and words arrangements, inspiring to play different games (tongue-twisters), playing with homonims and doing word puzzles. The article puts emphasize on the fact that different word games, although they demand special kind of sensibility for language and its melody and they also demand great sense of humour, really do not cross children’s receiving capabilities.
