Dom, którego nie ma : problematyka rodzinna w powieści "Ziele na kraterze" Melchiora Wańkowicza

Abstract

Family issues constitute an important link in works by Melchior Wańkowicz. The article makes an attempt to answer the question on the role of home for the author of Ziele na kraterze. The motive is perceived here in three perspectives: as a material substance, an image of family bonds and multigenerational traditions. The author aim to answer the question why the writers — representatives of the gentry refer rather to an idea of a hom than, as writers of the peasant trend, to their own regions and land. In the works of the latter the issue of a connection with a specific place is less important.
