Przestrzeń wybrana : szpital psychiatryczny w dzienniku Edy Ostrowskiej

Abstract

The topic of the article is the psychiatric hospital described by Eda Ostrowska in the first edition of the diary Here I am standing in front of you in the rain of the body. The psychiatric hospital in Abramowice is a heterotopia which provides Eda Ostrowska with a shelter — contrary to “only space”, a place without any limitations, socialized territory. For Ostrowska it is a place she can hide, devoted for special individuals, a place which lets break up with traditional time. Eda has made it a chosen space. Formally not being its resident, she has entered the heterotopia of deviation voluntarily and made at home there.
