Próba interpretacji ciągu elementów grafemicznych "byłom" w tekstach internetowych

Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of grammatical and semantic interpretation of the graphemic string “byłom”, which can be spotted in Polish Internet. The text in question were selected with Google.pl search engine and represent rather unofficial style. The author gives some possible interpretations of this string: 1. misspelled acc or instr sg fem. forms of the adjective BYŁY (‘former’) or lexical unit MOJA BYŁA (‘my ex’) - instead of “byłą”; 2. various past tense forms of the verb BYĆ (‘be’), particulary”: a) a form of 1p sg masc/fem praet (instead of “byłam”); b) a form of 3 p sg neutrum (instead of “było”); c) proper form of 1p sg neutrum. The form in 2c is totally regular in Polish conjugation, although rather rare in authentic text. Some examples in 2a., 2b can be regarded as an element of speaker/writer selfcreation, and the other - as a result of misspelling.
