Abstract

Jan Czekanowski in time and space The Author presents the concept and the method of Jan Czekanowski from the perspective of time of race – the epoch in which he created his school. The presentation of the remarkable anthropologist’s achievements (the advancement of Polish craniology, the diagraphic method, the taxonomy of races and human anthropological types) is accompanied by the thesis from the field of history of science on the relation between the scientific concepts and the world-view tendencies which prevail at the time of conception of a given theory.
