Abstract

The article describes the history of the University of Silesia Library website that was designed and put on the Internet in 1998. The website has been constantly rebuilt and adjusted to the needs of its users for the last 10 years. The website has gradually extended with new electronic sources: electronic directory of the library, expanded collection of useful links, information about traditional and electronic periodicals and databases, ‘Bibliometrics’ section devoted to parametric assessment and citations. In 2006– 2007 there occurred digitized card catalogues and Silesian Digital Library on the Internet.
