Zwroty etykietalne jako element strategii konwersacyjnej w polskim i rosyjskim dyskursie parlamentarnym

Abstract

Th e article provides a description of politeness formulae utilized in order to create a negative image of a political opponent during parliamentary debate. Th e authors analyse selected forms of address as well as requests by means of which the opponent is discredited. Politeness formulae are used in this process as a language manipulation device aimed at prompting negative attitude to one’s political opponent in the eyes of the audience (potential voters). As linguistic research material the authors used transcribed stenographic reports from the works of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (lower house of the Polish parliament) and the Russian State Duma.
