| Abstract: | Probability theory is an important part of Wisława Szymborska’s philosophy of life evoked in her poetry. The probability applies to her attitude to love either. Stanisław Barańczak admired the works of Szymborska, especially her love poems. The author of this sketch shows the influence of Szymborska’s opinions on probability and her love poetry on Barańczak’s poems. She also indicates the difference between both authors: Szymborska was telling about transience of feelings, Barańczak was believing in the permanence of love and wrote a series of poems dedicated to his wife – Anna Barańczak. |
