Abstrakt: Subjective playwright, introduced over one hundred years by August Strindberg, is still an adequate form of showing existential malady to visualize a scattered subject. The contemporary ego dramas constitute a starting point for a reflection on the subjective space of an individual entangled into the conflict between the embracing and the embraced. The world presented in Polowanie na karaluchy [Hunting fo r cockroaches] by Janusz Głowacki and Podróż do wnętrza pokoju [A journey to the inside the room] by Michał Walczak causes associations with a composition of Kartoteka [A file] by Tadeusz Różewicz. An alienated room in which the protagonists of the works in question live, becomes a trap and, at the same time, a place of visualization of their desires and fears. In their texts, Głowacki and Walczak activate the poetics of the ego drama and dramatic situation, known from the work by Różewicz, showing, at the same time, the two generation experiences proceeding one after another — the political emigration and postmodern experience separation. The texts depict the main reasons of figure isolation and extirpation. Determinants defining the existence of protagonists, and constituting the source of dissonance between the ego and the place perceived by it are "relocalization" and "multiplicity that does not know unity". As a result, in spite of context differences, both dramas create the protagonists in the state of disintegration, the source of which remain through and through the current issues, such as identity fragmentation and loss of an "ontological safety".
