Abstract

In his work, the author discusses the reports from the Icelandic journey of Lucjan Wolanowski against the background of earlier travelogues written by Poles visiting Iceland. The reporter concentrated on a description of an American military base on the island, as well as the presentation of geysers and an everyday life of Icelanders perceived to be colourful and exotic for Poles.
