| Abstract: | The article analyses three Polish versions of Joseph Conrad’s short story The Character of the Foe from the perspective of domestication and foreignization strategies. It was shown that the domestication strategy dominated in the first two translations. However, in the third retranslation the foreignization strategy was the key one. |
