Abstract

The paper is a linguistic analysis of the lyrics of the song Więcej niż Google [More than Google] with the use of tools typically applied in cognitive methodologies, including the linguistic picture of the world. The foundation of the premise is the presupposition that contemporary linguistic act of professing love is dependent on cultural determinants of the 21st century, among them emerging technologies and using them in interpersonal relations to create and sustain love relations. At present, technological artefacts have become intermediaries in speaking about love. In terms of language, the contemporary love expression is characterized by the fact that the feeling is not mentioned directly. The author proves that certain verbs used in the act of professing love are undergoing significant semantic changes.
