Abstract: | The article aims at discussing such issues as: the limits of philology as a discipline, the need to go beyond these limits and evolve into language anthropology, redefining the very idea of a text in the multimedia age. The considerations are based on the advertisement understood as a multi-code text that produces meaning due to the interference of several codes (verbal, iconic, music or even a spatial one). Research in such types of philology must go beyond its traditional limits and must redefine the object of analyses – the text. Its meaning is created not only through words, but also music in the background or a visual sphere. |
