Abstract: | The article constitutes a synthetic discussion of the work of Przemysław Pilar-ski, one of Poland’s most interesting playwrights. The author juxtaposes, on an equal footing, the materials, languages and conventions of representation from various cultural circles (cabaret, soap opera, stand-up, children’s rhymes). Quotations and references to the poetics and works of other authors seamlessly intermingle and intertwine in Pilarski’s work. It would seem most appropriate to use the words the word remix or recycling strategy to describe their poetics, because what characterizes Pilarski’s dramaturgy is collage, fragmentation, genre syncretism and intertextuality. It seems that the author’s cultural memory is deposited in his texts. Their performative potential, which is not without significance, is revealed, for example, in assigning the recipient (reader, viewer) a role, inscribed in the text of the play. |
