Doświadczenie pustki we współczesnym dramacie bułgarskim

Abstract

Contemporary Bulgarian drama reveals the need and tendency to explore multidimensional states of threat, disorientation, loss, a feeling of being unable to live life to the fullest, which either directly or indirectly, corresponds to the experience of emptiness. The interpretation of the selected scenarios written by three Bulgarian playwrights, S. Stratiew (1941—2000), G. Gospodinow (1968) and E. Rachnew (1968) prove correct by depicting emptiness as a condition inseparable from the modern/postmodern consciousness. The protagonists’ imposed or consciously adopted reflection on the condition of identity, takes the form of a self-examination and often results in a feeling of lack of fulfillment, failure, wasted chances, and incompleteness.
