Kategoria rodzaju wobec procesów uniwerbizacyjnych (na materiale słowackim i polskim)

Abstract

The paper focuses on the problem of univerbation in contemporary Polish and Slovak. It defines univerbation in Polish and Slovak literature as a process of changing multi-word phrases into single ones. Univerbized lexemes are created only when they exist simultanously to their multiword equivalents. The main author’s aim is to provide a wide range of lingual examples which show the dependence between univerbation processes and gender. As the analysis of gathered material has shown, there is no need to gender compliance between motivating and motivated phrases when univerbation is concerned.
