Abstract: The sketch presents an interpretations of Elizabeth Bishop poem The Map and Wisława Szymborska poem Mapa. Bishop's poem The Map was the first poem published in her debut volume North & South (1946). Szymborska's poem Mapa was the last poem as she prepared for printing before her death (2012). Their poems are described by critics as perfect and precise. Both poets, using poetic creation, show the falsification of maps, not the reproduction of the world and the lack of symptoms of life. The poem "Mapa" of Wisława Szymborska has been translated into Romanian by Constantin Geambaşu.
