Abstract: “We like to spy on others” — as writes Agnieszka Nęcka. Private sphere in modern literature has become an extremely popular commodity however, it seems the most popular is the form of uncovering our own intimacy — dairies, non-fiction forms, reality-shows. Private, inaccessible lives of others still attracted both: creators and consumers, mainly because it is allow people to define themselves against the “interiority” of society. Voyeurism is a very common strategy of writing in o Tomasz’s Rożycki works — in his poems entity recounts what he manages to pry peering into the basement, looking through the windows, spy the old lady from under the bed — observed the spaces, people and animals showing the interior of the Other, also the Other in him. In this article, I would like to look at artistic “voyeurism“ — to explore popular, but quite peculiar Różycki’s poetry, creative method — mainly on the example of his poetic novel “Bestiarium”, and a few selected poems.
